Week Four- HASAY Heaven

First of all, I want to say that this picture of the little baby looks so cute with the rolly-polly stomach and fat arms. We are just living in the wrong era, because there were times when a good pot belly represented wealth and was idolized by all of society.

Instead, we live in an era where stick-thin models are not only on the runways, but in our movies, our television shows and someday may be our Senators and Governors. Whether we participate in the comparisons or not, everyone around us is so we should just be aware that this is the look of the early 2000's. Damn it!

Participating in the HASAY has kept me focused and doing more exercise than I would do normally. We all need to give a big Thank You to Casey for keeping us in HASAY Heaven! I feel a little stronger, mostly in the arms. I did everything in moderation: a little hiking, a little strength training, a little Pilates with Angella, walking Wrigley daily and some cardio. I know to step it up this week, I need to do lots more cardio. Period. No excuses.

Original Weight: 135 pounds

This week's weigh-in: 132 pounds

Goals: Going out today to buy another tape measure. Wrigley got a hold of my old one and chewed it up. What a loyal dog...he didn't want me to see the numbers and be disappointed! I want to be at 130 or below by the end of this week.

No doubt about it- ramp up the cardio in intervals and you will see steady results. One reason is that it lowers the cortisol levels in the body which effects how much we 'hold onto' the weight. There is real science to this weight stuff! Who knew???? Keep up the good work- I am rooting for you!

I think you are right on w/ the tape measurements. Get a new one. LOL I'm going to start trying that because the scale is nothing but frustrating to me!

You use a measure tape to measure your weight?
Yes, interval running/cardio does a lot. All about switching it up and making your body adapt.

I'm back since m first comment mysteriously disappeared. I guess I offended the internet. That fat kid in the picture is actually my kid Graham and he's since grown into the belly (and the huge head). He's still a little on the chubby side and it makes him even more adorable. You're welcome for keeping on you guys, it's my pleasure. I enjoy heckling. I love that Wrigley is trying to be supportive, he seems like a positive dog. Keep it up this week, you're doing great on the exercise front. You're right, moderation is key.

Um, look at you! You are doing so well. My comment doesn't even do your progress justice. Way to go!

I say we revisit the era when the pot belly was king, booya! Seriously, good job keeping up with the exercise and shedding the poundage. I don't think any of us should aspire to stick thinness, just strength and good health. Those skinny girls in the magazines make me want to force feed them cheeseburgers. Good luck this week. Go HASAY!

Good for you!
I was also reading your post about Pilates; I definitely need to work that sort of thing back into my exercise because when I was doing it regularly (actually taking Yoga) I never felt so strong or well balanced. I want that back.
